Getting noticed in the working world is one of the hardest things to do, recent discussions about giving careers advice to seven year olds hasn’t been mocked as much as some thought it might.

I personally remember seeing a careers advisor at sixteen and being told I had a very real chance of failing my GCSEs and everything else I wanted to do in life. (This at a time when I was predicted to receive 11 A* to C grades at GCSE and wanted to be a Journalist. Go figure.)

Needless to say, the world is an uphill struggle and any opportunities the young can get to shine should be embraced in all their glory. With this in mind London based boulangerie- patisserie group Apostrophe caught my attention.

Apostrophe have always prided themselves on being at the pinnacle of artistic chic when it comes to the café world. A trait they hope to continue with the announcement of Window Wonderland, a design competition aimed at students and lovers of the art world.

The competition, in its debut year, aims to discover eleven delightful designs which will be able to grace Apostrophe store windows across the capital from Monday November 16th until Sunday January 10th.

The successful artists will each be awarded with free tea or coffee for six months from any Apostrophe store, and an overall winner, will receive £1000, in the form of either an educational bursary, or a charitable contribution. A prize which, at the time of spiralling student debts, would provide a fantastic Christmas present for a young aesthete.

Window Wonderland is a fantastic opportunity for artists to have their talents seen by some of the biggest names in the industry. The judging panel for Window Wonderland includes; Director of Art London, Ralph Ward- Jackson and Editor of Design Week Lynda Relph-Knight

Entries, in the form of a digital image of the design must be submitted to entry@window-wonderland.com by Monday 9th November so budding artists will need to get their creative juices flowing if they want their chance to shine.
