Fabio Capello has told the Guardian that he isn’t “crazy” when he says that he fully believes that England can reach the final of the 2010 World Cup.  It is rumoured that the team are low in confidence as they feel the pressure of the nation resting upon them. This coupled with a lack of spark and hunger has made the result of today’s game look dubious.

However,  Fabio is confident that England will not lose the match against Slovenia kicking off at 15.00 today. He hopes to drill some urgency into the players to enable them to play at their best.  Hopefully, the fear of losing will overpower the feeling of pressure. The Guardian has provided a  neat comparison of the players on both teams in the match today, comparing the likes of England Striker, Wayne Rooney against Slovenian Goalkeeper, Samir Handanovic .

The media are anxiously awaiting for the match to start. BBC Sport’s chief football writer Phil McNulty, posts news that the media centre is heaving even three hours before the match.  Already the atmosphere in and around the stadium is buzzing with electric anticipation in what it is to be England’s make or break match.

Of course, it would be an absolute travesty for England to get knocked out at the group stages but England beat Slovenia in a friendly last September 2-1, and they have the support of the nation behind them. The outlook is promising!
