Last night saw Hollywood stars grace the red carpet at the Golden Globe awards. Unfortunately it rained (how very unlike LA) and, shock horror – some A listers even held their own umbrellas!!
But what about the dresses… well some A listers did look like drowned rats, but on the whole they scrubbed up well. Am I the only one that is disappointed that no one seems to get it horribly wrong anymore?!
Now the Golden Globes aren’t quite as formal as the Oscars held inMarch so the stars tend to experiment a bit more. A lot of the ladies tapped into spring/summers key trends. First up and my favourite dress of the night was the one worn by Drew Barrymore, tapping into the nude colour trend in an Atelier Versace gown with shoulder and hip crystal embellishments – gorgeous. Also going for the nude colour scheme was Brit actress Emily Blunt in Dolce and Gabbana and Jennifer Garner in Versace. Heidi Klum went for the pastel look in a dress by Roberto Cavalli.
The more daring of the stars went for the see through trend- Maggie Gyllenhaal wore a stunning Roland Mouret dress whilst Sandra Bullock dazzled (and flashed some leg) in a purple number by Botegga Venneta.
But what you all want to know about are the outfit disasters!! Ok first prize goes to Mariah Carey. What was she thinking!! It appears she thought it was a good idea to show off her bronzed Golden Globes! She wore a plunging black Hervé Léger gown that left little to the imagination. Also not looking so hot was 30 Rock actress Tina Fey- who seemed to be going for the Mary Poppins look in a Zac Posen frock!
