Now Brian Dowling has been crowned the Ultimate Big Brother housemate we finally have to face the fact that the most famous reality show has come to an end, leaving a big shape hole in TV viewing, Friday night television will never be the same again, sob sob.

But while Brian re-lives his five minute of fame we can only wonder what has happened to the housemates we grew up with and came to love over the last 11 years, where are they now?

BB1 winner Craig Phillips, who admirably gave his winnings to a friend for an operation, has since appearing on the show eleven years ago worked as a handy man  on several daytime TV lifestyle programmes such as Trading up and House call. More recently Craig appeared on UBB to set the housemates a task to build a shed.

BB2 winner and Ultimate Housemate Brian Dowling is expected to be offered many lucrative magazine deals and perhaps even another TV presenting job after stints on SMTV Live with Tess Daly.

BB3 winner Kate Lawler currently works as a DJ on Kerrang Radio. Her DJ career took off in 2004 and she has since played at clubs across the UK, Europe and the world including Pacha and London’s Ministry of Sound. Previous to this she presented Channel 4’s morning programme RI:SE and competed in ITV’ s Celebrity wrestling. She has also modelled for her favourite footie team Arsenal and lingerie for Ann Summers.

BB4 winner was Cameron Stout, if you don’t remember Cameron he was mocked by the tabloids as a bible basher, lives in Orkney and spent a short-time in the African BB house as part of an exchange to try and liven up the show. After winning BB4 he appeared on BBC show Restoration for a short time, stood in for Robbie Shepherd on BBC Radio Scotland and writes columns for The Sunday Post and the Aberdeen Evening Express. Cameron returned to Orkney after the show and used some of his winnings to buy a new piano for his parish church.

BB5 winner and UBB contestant Nadia Almada is currently recuperating after an alleged suicide attempt following a negative reaction during her eviction from Ultimate Big Brother. After winning BB5 Nadia released a single, which flopped at no.27 in the charts, made a fitness video and has appeared on several reality TV programmes including Channel five’s Trust me I’m a holiday rep.

BB6 winner Anthony Hutton now works as a hairdresser, following in the footsteps of his Big Brother love interest Craig, who now refuses to speak to Anthony. Most recently Anthony appeared on Channel 4’s The Last Supper presented by Dermot O’Leary during the UBB final. Anthony also released a keep fit dance video.

BB7 winner Pete Bennett still plays in his band, they released a single in March. In February this year he married his girlfriend Cherry Costin which was filmed by Living TV for their reality show Four Weddings.

BB8 winner and super-fan Brian Belo most recently appeared on Channel 4’s Come dine with me Big Brother special. Since winning the show he has become a columnist for Heat magazine, and worked as a presented on Harry Hill’s TV Burp. Brian has also acted in several stage plays and appeared on numerous reality TV programmes.

BB9 winner Rachel Rice, slated as the nicest housemate for failing to have an opinion, is now back to working as an English teacher after winning the show in 2008.

BB10 winner Sophie Reade, who also appeared on Channel 4’s special BB Come dine with me, has used her assets to her advantage posing in several lads mags and dating high profile men including footballers.

BB11 winner Josie Gibson is planning to settle down with fellow BB contestant John James. The Bristolian has also promised to pay for a new prosthetic leg for her housemate Steve and donate a big percentage of her winnings to charity.
