Fox News presenter, Bill O’Reilly has slammed Jennifer Aniston after her recent comments regarding single mothers.
The actress showed support for those who choose to raise a child alone by saying that in today’s society, a woman doesn’t need to have a man to have a family.
On his show The O’Reilly Factor, the Fox news correspondent claimed Jennifer Aniston comments were damaging to American youth saying:
“She’s throwing a message out to 12-year-olds and 13-year-olds that, ‘Hey you don’t need a guy. You don’t need a dad’. That is destructive to our society,” he said.
“Jennifer Aniston can hire a battery of people to help her. But she can’t hire a dad. Dads bring a psychology to children that in this society is underemphasised. Men get hosed all day long in the parental arena.
“Any man who leaves their children is not a man. Let’s make that perfectly clear. But the fathers that do try hard are under-appreciated and diminished by people like Jennifer Aniston.”
O’Reilly then invited the actress on his show to discuss the matter further, saying: “If she wants to explain, she can get her butt right in here.”
Charming.

Disagree with Bill O’Reilly!
Obviously it’s not socially productive or healthy to actively encourage fathers to leave their families, or to suggest that fathers are unnecessary accessories, but I think she’s just making the point that if a child or a mother is in a situation where through no fault of her own she is without a father/husband, it’s not the end of the world and the child can still grow up with the love and support of its mother.
She definitely is not damaging to American youth, I think Jennifer Anniston is a great role model – she’s hardworking, passionate and successful, and has managed to be so without a man!
