Singer Mariah Carey has confirmed she is pregnant, and is to give birth to her first child next spring. Carey and toyboy husband Nick Cannon, were reluctant to announce this pregnancy after suffering a miscarriage two years ago. Carey announced the news on a major US tv show “Yes, we are pregnant. This is true. It’s been a long journey. It’s been tough because I’ve been trying to hold on to a shred of privacy.”
The pregnancy news first broke when Thandie Newton spilled the beans on US chat show The View. When asked why she had taken over Carey’s role in new film ”For Colored Girls” Newton replied “I think she’s pregnant”.
Carey and Cannon do not wish to share the sex of the child and the due date, they have however admitted they’ve decided on the child’s name.
