Perhaps we spoke too soon yesterday when we commented on reports that Lindsay Lohan would be released from prison this month.

A spokesperson at the Century Regional Correctional Facility in Lynwood, where Lindsay is completing her sentence, revealed the star would not be released until August.

Despite being only 6 days into her sentence, Lohan had hoped she’d be released sometime this week due to prison overcrowding.

Lohan’s sentence has already been reduced to 88 days due to the time she spent in custody but could be reduced even further. Reports suggest that although Lindsay will have to stay in prison through July, prison overcrowding may see her released as early as August 1st.

Lindsay’s estranged father Michael Lohan spoke frankly about his daughter’s predicament on a Nashville radio station saying: “My people are reaching out to Robert Downey Jr. and to Mark Wahlberg. I know both of them and Mark is a tremendous human being.

“Hopefully they’ll see her before she gets out and she’ll get in this rehab and get off these prescription meds, and she’ll get her life back.”
