Glastonbury kicks off this Friday with a spectacular line up of Snoop Dog, Dizzee Rascal, Corinne Bailey Rae and it wouldn’t be right to forget the legendary Rolf Harris. I’m afraid Rolf fans, that it has not yet been revealed whether he will be bringing his didgeridoo, but let us hope it will be in tow. Maybe he’ll opt for a Vuvuzela. On Saturday, festival-goers will be treated to the Scissor Sisters, Muse and Kate Nash to name just a few and Sunday the festival will be closed by a range of artists such as Stevie Wonder and the harmonious Norah Jones.
Inevitably, fashionistas will be spotted at Glastonbury but what will they be wearing? Maxi-dresses are in, some Jimmy Choo or Hunter wellies will be a must, retro sunglasses, a Nicole Farhi scarf and a parka. There is also a rock-chick edge to this years festival fashion with studs being a key embellishment to look out for.
However, Hadley Freeman from the Guardian reminds us of the realities of festival wear with an emphasis on warmth, comfort and practicality. Think of the porta-loo, the mud, the cold and yes… the English rain. Even though it would nice to try and replicate Kate Moss’ look, I think I’ll also be taking my fluffy hoody along, just in case. Everyone loves to hug a hoody after all.
