Recently we reported that, following Simon Cowell’s departure, American Idol is set for a big shake up with rumoured high profile guest judges leaving the fate of the current judging panel uncertain.
But now we can confirm that the judging panel will most definitely have one absentee, as Ellen DeGeneres announces her resignation from the show after just one series.
The comedian and chat show host said she loved discovering and nurturing new talent but it was hard for her to hurt people’s feelings:
“A couple months ago, I let Fox and the American Idol producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me.”
