It really was a tale of two cities last night, as Angelina Jolie took to the red carpet for the London premiere of her current action-packed crime thriller Salt, decked out in a full length – if not entirely flattering – Amanda Wakeley dress and nude shoes. With her effortless starlet glow, the explosive revelations of Andrew Morton’s unauthorised biography released two weeks ago seemed a million miles away, despite it reaching the number one spot in the New York Times’ bestseller list.
Miss. Jolie was joined by an array of British celebrities too, including Kerry Katona, Edith Bowman and Leona Lewis, as she told the gathered crowds how much her and partner Brad Pitt ‘missed London’.
On the other side of the Atlantic, it was Jennifer Aniston’s turn to shine at the premiere of her forthcoming chick-flick / rom-com, The Switch, in a strapless Lanvin dress and cute sandals. And it seems Jennifer wasn’t too far from the haze of controversy either, having recently unwittingly entered a war of words with talk show host Bill O’Reilly, in which he remarked that her comments regarding women not needing a man to have baby were ‘destructive to society’.
With both films released this summer, it seems this box office feud could run and run…
