On the night before the BRITs, t5m caught up with James Morrison to discuss his joy in being nominated for, for the second time as, best male solo artist.
Yes, he looks uncannily like Chris Martin – but James Morrison is far from a Coldplay tribute act. The Rugby –born singer/song writer burst onto the scene with his undeniably catchy ‘You Give Me Something’ in 2006 from his debut album ‘Undiscovered’ which reached the number one spot. In 2008 he released his second album ‘Songs For You, Truths for Me’ which contained the two top ten singles ‘You Make It Real’ and the hugely well received collaboration with Nelly Furtado ‘Broken Strings’. James rather romantically says that the album is full of songs for his girlfriend.
James is no stranger to BRIT success – in 2007 he went home with the Best Male gong and this year is up for Best Male again, alongside nominees Will Young and Paul Weller.
