In an exclusive interview with t5m, Tara Bernerd talks us through her first major project, a disused warehouse in Battersea.

Tara explains how leaving school at 16 was a ‘head start’, as it meant she got very used to working in a business environment – and no doubt gave her the confidence she needed to tackle her first major job! Calling in a team of architects, Tara took charge of the bottom floor – as well as getting planning permission for the roof; and clearly her hardwork paid off, as this loft project was featured in design books and recieved much critical acclaim.

Tara explains how this project gave her not only the profit and the press attention that she needed to continue her work in design, but also the vital ingredient, confidence.
