This morning, Australian Googlers were greeted with a Josef Frank designed Google Doodle, replacing the traditional Google with one of the Austrian-born designers patterns.

How curious!

Born in Austria 125 years ago, Josef Frank is a renowned textile designer, whose creations have adorned homes the world over. To pay homage to the man, and to celebrate his birthday, Google chose his ‘The Vegetable Tree’ design which they reworked to spell out Google.

Annie Baxter of Google Australia said,

“In honouring architect Josef Frank, we’re continuing a tradition of celebrating individuals from all walks of life who have had a lasting impact on people around the world,” said Annie Baxter from Google Australia”
