Franz Ferdinand’s last album was released 4 years ago, which is a long time in the world of pop, and so their new album Tonight, released yesterday, was much anticipated.

The 12 track record is set out like a timeline from a night out. Front man Alex Kapranos says of the album “It’s not a concept record, but there is a strong night theme going through the songs so we structured the album like a night out, from jumping around getting ready to the walk home and sitting back in your room alone.”

Here is a little fact for you guys out there- Part Scot band The Phantom Band, featured on the Insider, recorded parts of their album Checkmate Savage at Franz Ferdinand’s studio – anyone thinking collaboration?
