The cream of the crop in London are starting to give a sneaky peak ahead of the main shows and talk about tickling one’s taste-buds.

News reached t5m yesterday that London label Xterity will have the talented Jessica Andrews of Tatler styling their off schedule show. Word is the show will be a relaxed, beach-inspired affair with a fusion of French Riviera and London edge.

Fashion Fringe’s first winners Basso & Brooke have divulged a little about their Spring/Summer 2009 collection too. A trip to Japan following on from their London show last February has inspired them to create a collection that is heavy in the ‘joyous, positive and colourful’. Look out for oversized smocks and basket weave motifs. A feast for the eyes some might say.

Jaeger London was welcomed with open arms last season for its London Fashion Week debut and this season the collection is feted to be swathed in joyous colours and prints. Prepare to see folk taken to new heights with all things whimsical and magic proving a sublime yet wearable inspiration. Look out for volume that actually flatters along with highly tailored separates.

Paris has lured Gareth Pugh to its boulevards to show there this coming season yet it has not stopped the East-ender from giving the Moët Room a makeover to coincide with the shows next week. It doesn’t just stop there, Pugh has designed a special VIP key to so to ensure the fashion elite can enter such a palatial suite; produced with renowned sunglasses designer Linda Farrow, Pugh has created 200 pairs of monochrome specs and no doubt fashion desks across town have been fighting over who gets to keep them. My my, Gareth has been a busy boy.

New York based photographer Anna Bauer was preparing to go to the Interview Magazine party when t5mchecked in with her following her big spread in this month’s issue of the magazine. Her intimate backstage portraits of fashion’s great and good already hang in the National Portrait gallery next to the likes of Mario Testino. Bauer will be in London to shoot for the Daily, published every day of London Fashion Week. The brainchild of Teen Vogue London Editor and Rubbish Magazine Editor in Chief Jenny Dyson it’s an informative yet tongue-in-cheek take on fashion week. Grab your copy, as it’s sure to be a collector’s item.
