Keira Knightley acting against domestic violence in hard-hitting new campaign

Atonement star Keira Knightley has shown her support for the charity Women’s Aid in a hard-hitting new TV and cinema campaign launched today, to raise awareness of domestic violence.
The shocking video shows Keira violently attacked by her partner after getting home from a day on set. It’s pretty shocking stuff, especially as the actress is playing herself. The advert ends by panning out to show that the attack is actually happening on a film set, but the set is deserted. It ends with the actress screaming as she’s attacked, and the strapline: “Isn’t it time someone called cut?”
“I wanted to take part in this advert for Women’s Aid because while domestic violence exists in every section of society we rarely hear about it,” she said. “Domestic violence affects one in four women at some point in their lifetime and kills two women every week.” Read more »

Kylie is set to storm Bollywood! The star is out in Mumbai making her debut in ‘Blue’ opposite Indian hearthrobs Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutt.
Ms. Minogue has spent the last week in the capital city, filming her song-and-dance sequence opposite Kumar in the ‘underworld, Carribean action film’ with a budget of £20million – earning the quite staggering sum of £100,000 a day.
And she isn’t the only one getting in on the Bollywood action – Sylvester Stallone, yes really, will also be starring in a Hindi movie ‘Kambakht Isq’ or ‘Incredibly Love’. Fingers crossed for a song-and-dance sequence from him too!

There were tears all around the office this morning as we heard that Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake are getting married.
Possibly the best looking couple on the planet are thinking of tying the knot in Italy – after it was alleged that Justin popped the question in Rome.
After our initial period of mourning we feel ready to send the couple our ‘congratulations’ – and we’re now off to buy our hats…

Danny Boyle and Kate Winslet look set to sweep the Oscars
22nd February 2009 | 0 comments | 0 votes yet, click here to agree or disagree
With all the excitement surrounding London Fashion Week we almost forgot that tonight was the Oscars. We can’t wait to see whether the rumours are true – will Kate Winslet really wear a Victoria Beckham dress? Will she be crowned Best Actress, or will she lose out to Angelina or Meryl? The same goes for Slumdog Millionaire – although it seems like a sure thing, Brad Pitt’s The Curious Case of Benjamin Button could always surprise us all and walk away with Best Picture. It’s not even like the Best Actor gong will be any easier to predict, with Sean Penn and Mickey Rourke going up against Heath Ledger’s Dark Knight.
Whatever the result, t5m’s Insider will bring you all the gossip.

The Oscars 2009 – A snub is in the air?
9th February 2009 | 0 comments | 0 votes yet, click here to agree or disagree
Oscar buzz is in the air ahead of the big day on the 22nd of this very month. While most nominations fell into the ‘expected’ category, as always, the Oscar panel appears to have relished their moment in the limelight and used it as an opportunity to stir things up a bit. While Heath Ledger got his well-earned Best Supporting Actor nod, The Dark Knight was shafted in every other way imaginable, missing out on nominations for Best Picture, Best Director for Christopher Nolan and Best Adapted Screenplay.
While The Dark Knight still came third in the overall nominations category with eight nominations (behind The Curious Case of Benjamin Button with thirteen and Slumdog Millionaire with ten), most of these came in technical categories seemingly reserved for comic book adaptations, like visual effects and art direction.
