What a week to be in London as our capital played host to the likes of Anna Wintour, Victoria Beckham and my favourite British export, Agyness Deyn to celebrate the 25th anniversary of London Fashion Week. Monumentous! With the return of fashion powerhouses including bohemian rhapsody Matthew Williamson, perennially classic and crisp Antonio Berardi and British institution Burberry under the captainship of Christoper Bailey, this was not a week to be feeling anything less than fashion-forward, directional and trend hungry.
And never one to miss a historic event, glamorous party or opportunity to mingle with the A-List, t5m were there to bring you all the trends, front row gossip and backstage goings on – including Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker of PPQ who made LFW history with their all-black model show, Paul Smith on his Congolease collection and none other than Matthew Williamson.
We also caught up with the boys at Basso & Brooke, who tell us that next, next season will be all about Uzbekistan, and the wonderful Daniella Helayel of Issa whose collection was modelled by none other than Ms. Naomi Campbell…And for those of you that fancy looking just a little bit more like the supermodel extraordinaire, we even got a makeup lesson from Pat McGrath so we can all recreate Naomi’s Issa ‘hurricane’ look.
Then of course, there are the celebrity interviews – want to hear what the likes of Erin O’Connor, Daisy Lowe, Fearne Cotton and fashion expert, Hillary Alexander had to say about the week? Well, you know what to do!
You would of course be forgiven for thinking nothing else has been happening this week – but you’d be wrong! We have reviews of The Gamer and Young@Heart, an account of the demise of the Jay Leno Show, first hand report from The Funny Women Awards, and even a look at the aetheist debate…
More than enough to take care of your weekend? We thought so…
