Known for her sharp tailoring and fierce clothes, fashion designer Stella McCartney’s fall collection photographs are a stark alteration from her typical campaigns. Following in her mother’s footsteps, a famed animal rights protector, Stella’s strictly ‘no animals’ policy in the making of her clothes is ironically abandoned through starring Disney’s cast of Bambi in the photo shoot for her Fall campaign.
But why such a childlike figure alongside Stella’s famously severe clothes?
Apparently Stella wanted to juxtapose the innocence of such a recognisable figure with the fierceness of her clothes. Well the campaign definitely works; Bambi may look at home in the woodlands alongside his furry friends, but model Sigrid Agren, looks more edited in than the cartoon characters them selves. Keep an eye out for Bambi and co in September’s Issue of British Vogue. Who said fashion was becoming predictable….
