Jenson Button makes it double whammy this weekend with his second win of the new F1 season. Button is enjoying an extraordianry comeback with Brawn GP and was placed first today in a surreal, rain-drenched Malaysian Grand Prix, winning the team another five points.

Adverse weather conditions halted the race on the 33rd lap, and Button was in the lead behind the safety car when racing was stopped due to torrential rain and thunderstorms rendered the Sepang circuit too dangerous to race on. Unable to continue racing due to the weather and falling darkness, half-points were awarded to those drivers in the leading eight positions.

The guardian.co.uk live-blogged the whole race, and reported on an exciting race this evening. ‘Although short-lived there was plenty of entertainment during the race before the heavens opened with Nico Rosberg making a superb start, storming into the lead from sixth place and forcing Button, who started in pole position, wide at the first corner.

Button slipped down to third behind Jarno Trulli, while Fernando Alonso, who has been suffering from an ear infection all weekend, powered his way from 10th up to fourth place. McLaren’s Heikki Kovalainen failed to complete the first lap and was forced to retire from the race following an opening lap collision, while BMW Sauber’s Robert Kubica was slow off the line and soon became the second retirement.’
