Ah yes, another working week comes to an end and you realise you have been so busy you have yet to read a newspaper let alone keep up with the important news – like what’s going on in the world of fashion and celebrity. So we are tirelessly doing the groundwork for you to present a quick-fire version of the week’s latest fashion news and gossip.

Inglourious Basterds premiere:
It might have been wet and windy yesterday evening, but the stars still came out to shine on the red carpet, at the London premiere of Tarantino’s new movie Inglourious Basterds. Rihanna might not be in the film but definitely packed a punch on the red carpet wearing an Alexander McQueen jumpsuit. Diane Kruger, who stars in the film, looked as elegant as ever in a short strapless Balmain number teamed with every fashionista’s favourite, Christian Louboutin studded heels. The only criticism was that leading man and eye-candy Brad Pitt was absent from the event.

Olsen twins recognised by CFDA:
The highly esteemed Council of Fashion Designers of America had admitted 31 new designers, including Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. President of the CFDA, Diane Von Furstenberg, also gave hot new fashion favourites Jason Wu and Alexander Wang the highest fashion accolade of admittance to the council. Mary-Kate and Ashley are recognised for their two labels, The Row – a collection of luxurious tailored separates, and mid-range brand Elizabeth and James.

Victoria Beckham dressed for success:
Once famed for her Spice Girl talents of wearing black Gucci dresses and pointing, Mrs Beckham is now truly making her mark as a fashionista. She was caught playing the role of art director on a recent shoot to promote her new range of dresses, even wearing the smart grey cashmere Carmontelle dress from the new collection. Evidently she was completely involved in the shoot, which saw models perched on swings in front of beautiful Westbourne Grove houses. Her range of dresses, sold at Selfridges and Harrods, are also on net-a-porter.com, but sold out a few hours after going online. Perhaps Victoria has finally cracked the fashion formula for success.

Topshop to get eco-friendly:
It’s been announced that Topshop’s flagship store at Oxford Circus is set to stock recycled clothing label My Only One. “Inspired by the need to re-use and recycle”, the brand uses up-and-coming designers to redesign old clothing with a fashionable and on-trend bent. The collection will be available from this summer.
