Once a year, the streets of Notting Hill become a blur of elaborate costumes, colourful floats, infectious rhythms and delicious food, and t5m were there to capture them all for posterity.
The Carnival has been going for over 50years, and has become a symbol of the wealth and diversity of Carribbean culture in Britain – with everything from traditional, easy – listening dub to bass heavy bashment blasting out from the various soundsystems which take over the pavements and roads of west London.
We meet everyone from emerging solo artist Paloma Faith to Carnival institutions Gaz’s Rockin’ Blues to talk about the importance of Carnival – and of course, it’s best bits.
