Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption has today set a pre-order record on Amazon ahead of its release tomorrow on P3 and XBox 360. The game also currently holds the top two and three of the top four positions in Amazon’s UK bestsellers, sandwiched by Wii Just Dance.
A spokesperson for Amazon’s Video Games today commented that “This is undoubtedly the most hotly anticipated video game of the year so far” and continued “Demand has risen significantly over the last week as excitement and buzz around the game built, making it one of the most successful titles we have seen on Amazon.co.uk this year before it has even been released”.
Red Dead Redemption has been described as the most hyped game since Modern Warfare 2, and it’s been suggested that Red Dead Redemption cost close to $100 million to make, making it one of the most expensive video games ever.
