Finally, Ray Winstone has been recruited by the FA to clean up pushy parents at the touchlines of grassroot football. We’ve all seen parents getting carried away – shouting at the ref and embarrassing their kids, but the sad reality is that 7,000 children stop playing football each year due to pressure from the sidelines, not to mention the 5,000 match officials who quit the profession last year citing ‘abusive behaviour’ as their reason for leaving the beautiful game.
We’re hoping that Hollywood hardman Ray will kick them into shape!
