Lucy Luscombe chats to Poppy Delevigne in New York, getting the lowdown from New York Fashion Week the night before it all kicks off again here in London.

What shows have you been doing at NYFW this season?

I got back to New York from London just as NYFW was
starting so sadly didn’t have a chance to partake in any
castings… But I have been to watch a  handful  – something
I love doing…. Philip Lim, Halston, Alberta Ferretti,
Carlos Miele…

What new Designers are you most excited about?

Richard Chai and Brain Reyes… There designs are fresh and vibrant.

What was your first Fashion Week experience?

My first show for Fashion week was in London for Gharani Strok and I was 19…  I was petrified!

What is your most memorable Fashion Week experience?

Doing the Julian McDonald show would have to be my most
memorable experience of fashion week… His show was so over the top and wild and I think they still are… I just
remember sparkly dresses and 4 inch heels flying across the
room backstage… And Naomi Campbell was 3 in front of me -
it was sort of inspiring sharing a catwalk with someone like
her.

What other projects have you got coming up?

I have a few things in the pipeline but nothing confirmed as of yet so I can’t really talk about them… I usually don’t get confirmed for things until the day before I do it… My job is so spontaneous!!

What are your top dancing hotspots across the globe?

Beatrice Inn and The Box in New York… The Cuckoo Club and Firehouse in London…

After emigrating to The Big Apple , what is it you miss
most about London?

I miss the pubs, I miss baked beans and I miss the sense of humour!

What bands are you listening to at the moment?

The Kills, MGMT, Adele…
