Love is in the air – Hanna Bayatti weighs up her options for Valentine’s Day this Saturday.

I’m not that much of a lovey-dovey kind of girl, but I do admit during the build up to the 14th February I often suffer the slightly crazed thought, of what will I do?

Normally my boyfriend and I go to the pub with friends, but I do wonder what it would be like to ‘organise’ a Valentine’s Day night and to see if my expectations meet, well, my expectations. I definitely don’t want anything sickly or romantic, and he definitely won’t, so here are some suggestions for alternative Valentine’s Day activities.

If money is too tight to mention, then try a picnic in Regents Park. You can explore the gardens and statues and take peace in the surrounding green space that sits quietly in the middle of busy London- cheap, but weather permitting until I am sold.

A little more romantic, although short-lived, is the Champagne Flight on the London Eye. The Champagne is Laurent-Perrier and the views of London will be amazing. The downside is that I am scared of heights and the mime artists that will entertain you in the queue just irritate me- but if you love a mime and aren’t a scaredy-cat like me then it’s an alternative treat.

One idea that’s exciting me beyond belief is a Llama Trek! You are paired up with one of London’s finest Llama’s for 3 hours, so stretch before, and taken around Surrey Hills natural forest and hills. To top the brilliance of this trip is a lunch at the Percy Arms in Chilworth Village. For me this is not only a way to spend time with someone, but a way to get out of London and explore its outskirts- 10/10!

If the weather is not that nice how about a tour of London on a double decker bus. When I was young and went on holiday with my dad, if there was a tour bus in the city we would be on it. I hated this, but I have to admit that it could be quite interesting. You will see London from an entirely new perspective, especially if you sit on the top deck- it’s open air so grab a tea or coffee, or even better bring a flask to keep warm. Strangely I like the idea of taking time to see the spectacles of London then jumping off and getting something to eat.

So a few things for me to consider, and I wonder how it will all turn out. Keep you posted!
