New York’s Lincoln Centre recently became a fashionista’s playground when it played host to a slew of the world’s most fashionable people for the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards, otherwise known as the CFDAs. The awards are commonly recognised as the industry’s highest honour for designers, with previous winners including Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein, Oscar de la Renta, Philip Lim, Ralph Lauren and Carolina Herrera, across the various categories. The evening’s most esteemed award, Womenswear Designer of the Year, went to design duo Laura and Kate Mulleavy of Rodarte, a brand that has exploded onto the catwalks and the backs of A-list fashionistas over the last couple of years. Other big winners were Marc Jacobs, who won the International Award for Louis Vuitton and Alexander Wang, who won the Swarovski Award for emerging talent.

Of course, fashion awards aren’t complete without the crème de la crème of the industry parading down the red carpet (or in this case, a rather beige one) in a variety of the hottest designs around. t5m fashion favourite Agyness Deyn strutted down in a sequin mini dress, whilst Vogue grand dame Anna Wintour opted for monochrome Carolina Herrera. Top points to Heidi Klum who looked fantastic in a silver shimmering Michel Kors mini dress with a Grecian style shoulder. And Kirsten Dunst certainly chose the right label for the night in a grey bandage dress from Rodarte, trading in her usual bohemian look for smoky eyes and acres of bare leg – and looking fantastic with it!
