The end of the year is nigh, the weather has morphed from deplorably chilly to offensively cold, and everyone appears to be going broke just before Christmas rears its festive head. In short, things are looking down.
Luckily we have some more exclusive interviews with great musicians to cheer you up. Check out our most recent interview with legendary producer and jazz guitarist, Nile Rodgers. The king of cool discusses forming the band Chic, struggling with record deals and his early days spent learning practically every instrument in the school orchestra.
To add to our music legend library, we’ve also published our exclusive interview with Guy Pratt, acclaimed session bass guitarist who’s worked with everyone from Pink Floyd and Michael Jackson, to Madonna and Bananarama.
Guy discusses his expansive career as well as offering his commentary on music over the years, including a few off-the-wall bands like Orange-Flavoured Floorboards.
He speaks mostly about his time with progressive-rock band Pink Floyd, with whom he toured and recorded extensively, and won the band’s only Grammy ever for ‘Best Instrumental Recording’ on the song ‘Marooned’.
We’ll also be giving you our 2009 new music forecast in the run-up to Christmas, with our pick of the bands and artists who look set to become the soundtrack to ‘09.
