I recently posted on my Rockaeology blog at http://tinyurl.com/46dm7u6 the story of how Perkins wrote “Blue Suede Shoes.” The germ of the idea was from Johnny Cash. But it was during a break at a performance that Perkins overheard an exchange between two dancing teens that set the song into motion.
