It remains as one of the great dividers of womankind – who would you rather be, Marilyn Monroe or Audrey Hepburn? Sex appeal or gamine chic? Platinum blonde or chocolate brunette? Fortunately, to aid us all, London’s Proud Central gallery is exhibiting the ‘Sam Shaw’ collection – a definitive look at these two iconic women from one of Hollywood’s most prolific photographers.

The collection includes numerous unseen images of Audrey Hepburn, mainly shot in Paris during the filming of ‘Love in the Afternoon’ alongside Shaw’s best loved photographs of Marilyn – he was afterall, the man responsible for the infamous ‘Seven Year Itch’ shot of Marilyn’s skirt billowing as she stands on a subway grate.

Capturing both the vulnerability and strength of these women, the collection serves as a reminder of their legendary impact on popular culture and their iconic beauty. For anyone fascinated with either Audrey or Marilyn, or expert photography this exhibition is not to be missed.
