South African golfer Louis Oosthuizen was victorious at this year’s Golf Open Championship, beating world number three Lee Westwood in a seven stroke victory.
Oosthuizen clearly didn’t allow his past disappointments to affect his game which included early exits from the 2009 Masters and this year’s US Open. The win has seemingly boosted Oosthuizen confidence and given him a stronger determination. Speaking about his victory he said:
“I’m going to work a bit harder from now on and try and get up there in as many majors as I can.”
World number one Tiger Woods may have been letting his personal dramas affect his professional game as the golfer struggled to find the famously named Wood ‘charge’. He played a disappointing game, failing to convert several chances on the green. Wood’s commented saying:
“I played well but made nothing. I just couldn’t get anything started so failed to get momentum,”
