The news zinging around the fashion wires this morning is that our very own fashion darling Alexa Chung is starring in the new season campaign for DKNY Jeans.
Alexa will feature in the UK autumn winter 09 campaign, with actress/musician Hilary Duff starring in the US version.
Over the past year Alexa Chung has gone from cute and quirky London girl to a internationally known Brit fashion icon, thanks to her move to the states and her prime time show on MTV. Her signature style of loose dresses and oversized cardigans, brogues and classic British labels such as Mulberry, have made her stand out of the American fashion crowd of the ultra-groomed and glam.
Adding to the uber-hip vibe of the campaign, images were shot by New York street-style photographer Scott Schuman, of The Sartorialist fame [www.thesartorialist.com] – one of the most influential and well-known style blogs.
DKNY Jeans told Elleuk.com that Chung was chosen as she ‘epitomises the style of a DKNY Jeans girl’. We’re predicting many future campaigns on the back of this one which will see Alexa Chung epitomise cool Brit style on many a billboard for years to come!
