America’s first lady has long been object of Insider’s affections, not least for her impeccable wardrobe decisions and killer style at literally every public appearance.
It seems that she’s not only a personal penchant but a national one, with even her Majesty the Queen falling for Michelle’s charms. The two got on famously at their first encounter at Buckingham Palace yesterday, and the first lady broke royal protocol by doing the unthinkable: she gave the Queen a hug. Instead of going down like a lead balloon as imagined, the gesture was reciprocated, a far cry from the usual reserved greetings.

Barack and Michelle Obama are in London for the G20 summit, joining world leaders to tackle the problems surrounding the global economic crisis. Gordon Brown today claimed that the end of the global recession was now achievable as he unveiled an agreement from the G20 summit that will pump an additional $1tn (£748bn) into the world economy.
