Anna Wintour in London town:
Rumours have been abound for months, but now we have confirmation that US Vogue High Priestess, Ms Wintour, will be making an appearance at London Fashion Week next month. LFW is much-anticipated this year, with Christopher Bailey bringing Burberry back to Britain, alongside a whole host of designers, new and established, to celebrate the British Fashion Council’s 25th birthday. We expect a fashion scrum for a glimpse of that famous bob when she arrives!
Designer alert no 1: Katie Holmes.
Tom Cruise’s spouse first announced that she was planning a clothing line with her stylist Jeanne Yang last year, and followed it with debuting a dress of her own design at the Tropic Thunder premiere. Now they are finally ready to unveil their collection, under the name Holmes and Yang, for autumn/winter 09 at the exclusive Maxfield store in LA. We might not immediately be able to get our hands on the brand over here, but we can’t wait to see pictures of what’s on offer, as chances are the launch will be a fashion media frenzy.
Designer alert 2: Alison Mosshart?
Holy Cool Designer Batman! If rumours circulating the internet are to be believed, uber-cool The Kills singer Alison Mosshart is planning a collection for New Look. It was reported in the Mirror that she is to design a capsule collection for the high-street brand, but with few other details, this may just be fashion hype. Still, think of the hot indie trends she could start by replicating her own wardrobe? Something to day-dream about for the rest of the day.

Victoria Beckham might be worried about her husband’s reputation across the pond, but the US love for Mrs Beckham herself shows no signs of letting up. As she arrived for the auditions of American Idol (she is guest-starring as a judge) she was mobbed by fans, and then when she arrived for a second day yesterday in a red dress from her own line the fashion press universally approved. (Check out her new headwear of choice as well – the head band!) To top that, Elle MacPherson has been spotted not once, but twice, wearing one of VB’s designs! Apparently the supermodel has five different dresses from the collections, giving further fashion cred to Victoria and her collection.
