Donatella Versace, Joshua Schulman, Natalie Massenet and Colin McDowell are all on the look out for the next William Tempest or Basso & Brooke as part of Fashion Fringe 2009.

Launched in 2004 by fashion historian and editor Colin McDowell and IMG Fashion Europe, Fashion Fringe aims to seek out the very best in undiscovered fashion talent – offering the winner the chance to show capsule collections at London Fashion Week with a £100,000 contribution towards the show. And for the first ever year, Tamara Mellon will be overseeing an accessories category, where five finalists will receive a six-month apprenticeship at Jimmy Choo.

The launch party held last night at Guy Pelly’s new club Tini and was packed to the brim with fashion’s A-list, including Donatella Versace (honorary chair-person of Fashion Fringe), Claudia Schiffer, Roland Mouret and Natalia Vodianova.

Fashion Fringe is renowned for unearthing the freshest and most conceptual of Britain’s young designers. We cannot wait for battle to commence!
