We’ve been awards crazy recently, with the BAFTAs and Grammys on Sunday, followed by the Elle Style Awards on Monday night. The annual event hosted by Elle magazine was held at Big Sky Studios in North London.
Freida Pinto, wearing a black, futuristic Chanel dress embellished with flowers, picked up the award for Best Actress. Another Chanel-clad winner was Alexa Chung, who despite presenting also went home with the Best TV Star award. Looking elegant in a backless navy blue dress with a structured neckline, Alexa ditched her geek-chic look for one of polished perfection with bare legs and patent T-bar heels.
Woman of the Year Courtney Love went back to her punk-rock roots in a heavily beaded gown from the Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy collection. Striking model Alice Dellal never gets it wrong in her grunge get-up. She wore a sheer, skin-tight dress; provocative to just the right degree. Sienna Miller deserved her Style Icon award in a turquoise ruffled Matthew Williamson dress teamed with a black feather-collar jacket. If her dress sense is anything to go by, Twenty8Twelve’s London Fashion Week debut is set to cause a storm!
