London has finally had a chance to recover from the madness of London Fashion Week and now lots of juicy fashion news has been unearthed! And like any good media emporium, we have all the hottest and latest news – from the glamour and glitz of the Milan shows to even more designer/high-street collaboration gossip – right here, so you don’t have to wade through the newspapers and magazines searching for fashion titbits. Enjoy.

Ciao!

Although us Londoners feel slightly smug that Milan certainly didn’t match London in the centre-of-attention stakes, we did love the always glam atmosphere of the Milan catwalks. And this season all designers showing in the Italian capital of fashion went one way – sexy, sexy, sexy. Karl Lagerfeld’s Fendi collection was drapy, soft and sheer – a trend also featured heavily in London and New York. The Versace show was classic Gianni Versace – Donnatella finally feeling comfortable enough to reference her late brothers iconic style of the 1990s with lots of body-con, glitzy metallics and smoky make-up. Dolce and Gabbana also went back to their classic show-style on no runway and lots of light, and the clothes had their signature sexy appeal. But they also added a modern, technological edge by inviting prominent bloggers to be on the front row – setting them up with computers to upload real-time reactions to the collection. Yesterday, those on the continent hot-footed it from Italy to France to fight their way into the first Paris shows, which included Gareth Pugh – a designer known for his showmanship and post-modern fashion as much as his daring collections. An eclectic mix of front-rowers included Rihanna and Michael Stipe. Keep an eye open for the T5M Paris report in a few days.

AmfAR glamour.

Amongst the daytime chaos of fashion week, Milan organisers managed to find time to plan a star-studded party for AmfAR, to raise money for the Aids charity. Dan and Dean Caten of DSquared2 co-hosted with Milan front-rower Janet Jackson, hosting glamorous guests including Donnatella Versace (wearing hot-off-the-runway SS10 Versace), Linda Evangelista, Chanel Iman, Dita von Teese, Kanye West and Rachel Bilson. Diesel boss Renzo Rosso was a huge bidder, paying 36,000euros for a DSquared2 handbag signed by the contingent of models present at the event.

Hot on the high-street.

The Jimmy Choo collection hasn’t even hit the shops yet (we wait with baited breath) and H&M are already announcing a new collaboration! This time with fashion world stalwart Sonia Rykiel. The first collection will focus on lingerie, a first for H&M hook-ups, with a second to follow next year widening the collection to included Rykiel’s signature colourful prints and knitwear. Also, just when you thought you were excited enough, there are rumours abound that Canadian knitwear designer Mark Fast is to join the ranks of Topshop designers and produce a collection for the high-street giant. If it’s true then we expect fashion expectations to reach Christopher Kane proportions – we’ll confirm as soon as we know anything more!
