London Fashion Week is fast approaching and there’s no doubt that we’re in for a treat with the huge array of designers showcasing this season. Call me greedy, but I can’t help but wish there was one more name added to the schedule…
Joe Casley-Hayford; men’s and womenswear designer since the 1980’s was voted one of the 50 most influential creatives in London. Best known for his role as Creative Director for 200 year-old master tailor Gieves & Hawkes, he has unquestionably made his mark on the fashion industry.
When he’s not in Savile row, Hayford is busy joining forces with his model son Charlie; currently the face of Doc Martens. The father and son duo have created Casley-Hayford, which has launched this year right in time for S/S 09. The fusion of sportswear, English heritage and youth culture has resulted in a modern collection which is luxurious yet understated. This ‘innovation through tradition’ as Hayford puts it himself, is ideal for the fashionable young man with a penchant for formal dressing.
