The Music Producer Guild Awards held last night saw Bernard Butler come out on top winning ‘Producer of the Year.’ The award, which also serves as a Brit Award was handed to him by Duffy, consequently one of the artists he has produced music for. Butler has also produced for Black Kids, Sharleen Spiteri and Tricky.
Brian Eno beat the likes of Mark Ronson and Bjork to win the Music Producers’ Guild trophy. International producer of the year went to Gnarls Barkley’s Danger Mouse. Calvin Harris went home with the Best remixer prize and Best Newcomer was awarded to Paul Epworth. Elbow walked away with two prizes for Best UK album (The Seldom Seen Kid) and Best UK single (One Day Like This)

• Best Mastering Engineer: Ray Staff
• Best Live Album of the Year 2008: “Tangled Up,” Girls Aloud
• Best Studio: British Grove Studios

• Music Producers Guild Special Recognition Award: Chris Blair
