Yes, this year’s SXSW was the year of the British invasion- Primal Scream, Glasvegas and the very wonderful PJ Harvey (we adored her big hair) all performed, alongside the hype-tastic Little Boots and Late of the Pier, proving that despite being half the size of Texas, we still have musical clout.

This year’s conference featured over 1,900 bands from 53 countries across the globe – all determined to prove that despite the economic downturn, and the festival’s more modest lineup (last year R.E.M played) music, new and old, is alive and well.

Our personal highlight had to be the ‘One Night in Austin’ closing – party thrown by Mr. Perez Hilton – whose celebrity line up included Solange Knowles, Ladyhawke and Little Boots – as well as surprise guest Kanye West.

We’re saving for next year’s ticket now…
