Hollywood stars mingled with British newcomers as the nominees worked the red carpet ahead of tonight’s BAFTA awards.
Kate Winslet is tipped for success, up against Kristin Scott Thomas and Changeling star Angelina Jolie. Kate spoke of her sdmiration for Kristin Scott Thomas’ film I Loved You So Long. Meryl Streep is shortlisted for her role in Doubt, which has also picked up supporting actor nominations for Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams.
A very loved up Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were singing each other’s praises on the red carpet before the awards. Brad told reporters he admired Angelina’s “beautiful, raw performance” in Changeling. She went on to compliment Brad’s performance in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
The late Heath Ledger joins Hoffman in the best supporting actor category, where Brad Pitt is also recognised for his comic turn in Burn After Reading.
