Not another hotly tipped Kate Winslet epic, but exciting revelations from the t5m camp. Road to Revolution is the title of the fresh new concept currently being pioneered by Temperley London.

Believing that the traditional way of showing a Pret-a-Porter collection via two catwalks a year may have had its day, Alice Temperley and co will develop a series four installations per year in lieu of her usual runway shows, to be displayed in London, New York and Paris.

The fashion house will work with both up-and-coming and established film directors, photographers and video artists to create exciting new media that will be displayed with special installations for one day only in each city; as well as being beamed across the world via the internet and all leading fashion and lifestyle press.

‘From an economic and environmental point of view, it has become more and more difficult to support the constant global travel schedule for fashion sellers, buyers, and press’ says Lars von Bennigsen, CEO of Temperley London. ‘By employing cutting edge technology and talent, the four seasonal installations will allow us to communicate our brand message and aesthetic to a larger international audience while supporting both economic and environmental challenges.’ The first of these new presentations will debut during New York Fashion Week.

Demonstrating further the brand’s entrepreneurial streak, Temperley London will be opening its first of three free standing boutique in Dubai – marble-floored and 2,500 square foot – in association with the prominent Alabbar family.

‘We see great potential for our products, and joining forces with the Alabbar family gave us the opportunity to partner with one of the significant players in the region to roll out Temperley London stores,’ says CEO Lars (incidentally Alice’s husband too).

2009 looks set to be busy year for Temperley London; with new stores, a focus on the Asian and Russian market and of course, Road to Revolution.

Typically, t5m will be following the entire jouney, bringing you all the exclusive behind-the-scenes movements as they happen. Stay tuned for news of the first guest director and installation, as well as the project’s official launch in Spring.
