My Super Sweet 16…Jealous moi?!

I’m at home ill so I’ve taken it upon myself to watch trashy TV (I don’t need to be ill to do this). The trashiest I’ve found so far is My Sweet 16 UK. If there was ever a reason to not be rich, this show is it. Imagine if you came into money and then had kids…this is what they might end up like (I’m ripping up my lottery...

Review of BBC 2 Show – Dive

I’d made a note to watch Dive for two reasons.
1. It stars skins actor Jack O’Connell, who I have a hugely inappropriate crush on. I’m fully aware I should never admit this to people because he’s about four years younger than me and doesn’t really have the James Dean bad boy look, more the ASBO bad boy look but I can’t help myself, I am definitely a Team Cook not... -
We Will Rock You – Queen songs never get old!

Whenever I see a musical I play a little game with myself called ‘spot the straight boy’. Upon playing said game at the start of We Will Rock You, I struggled to find any - which is testament to a show that knows its audience. It’s not on par with the likes of Wicked but right from the ‘Frankie says relax style T-shirts’ and dance routine to Radio Gaga you...

The Back-Up Plan can back-up and throw itself in the bin – it is rubbish!

I’ll cut straight to the point, The Back-Up plan is one of the worst films I’ve ever seen and I struggle to understand how it got the green light to be made. They must have spent all the money on Jennifer Lopez - maybe she needs it, she’s got mouths to feed and hasn’t done a film or song for ages, plus I imagine Marc Anthony rakes in as much...

Review of The Wolfman

I have a girl crush on Emily Blunt. For me she’s right up there with Rachel McAdams and Isla Fisher. So instead of spending Valentine’s Day with McSteamy and McDreamy (if you’re a Grey’s Anatomy fan you’ll understand that reference, if you’re male you probably won’t) I spent it with The Wolfman.
I love horror films despite the tired formula’s that are trotted out time and time again. I especially love... -
Fanatical Fan made Lord of the Rings Prequel

It's a slow day at work so I'm trawling the net to keep myself entertained and what do I stumble (well not stumble as it was Yahoo's lead story) upon but the trailer to a prequel to Lord of the Rings that has been made by fan Kate Madison.
Now I'm not a fanatic when it comes to the Rings. I tried to read the Hobbit when I was a kid... -
From Hitler to High-Brow TV

If you’d told me on Friday morning that my weekend would include both toothpick moustaches and bad chat up lines I probably would have thought I would be spending a seedy evening at Los Locus. However, even though I did end up drinking in an underground bunker in central London my evening was more funny and holocaust filled than I would expect of a regular Friday night.
Comedian Richard Herring is... -
The Little Dog Laughed…and so did the audience at this hilarious play staring some of the UK’s finest actors – and then I ate cupcakes and cross stitched

As I continue my ascent into culture I went to see The Little Dog Laughed at the Garrick Theatre and giggled my way through two hours of entertainment.
The story is a role reversal of Pretty Woman and follows Hollywood Star Mitchell Green (a skinny but still Orlando Bloom-gorgeous Rupert Friend) as he falls in love with a rent boy (equally skinny but still perfectly formed Harry Lloyd). The set up... -
Dreamboats and Petticoats

When it comes to sharing likes and dislikes, enjoying the theatre is a surefire winner. However, when it can’t be backed up with a recent performance you’ve seen (and a random variety show the contestants do on celeb BB doesn’t count) it loses its luster.
I’ve cited theatre as an interest for years now but have rarely put my money where my mouth is. Maybe as I’ve got older (25 years...
