Vanessa Feltz was showing her support for breast cancer charities last night, at the Samsung Pink Ribbon Gala Dinner. Vanessa told us of how passionate she was about raising awareness and funding for these charities, particularly as the effects are ’staggeringly good’.
In the 70s, only 5 out of 10 women survived breast cancer. Now, that figure has risen to 8. Hopefully, fundraising and awareness like that taking place here will continue to raise survival rates.
Of course there was added excitement in the air due to Barack Obama’s historic election win. ‘It’s a brave new world’ enthused Vanessa, who was optimistic about the global effects of this ‘profound, seismic change’.
Later in the evening saw performances from Beverley Knight and Kelly Rowland, who both also expressed their excitement about Obama’s win.
