Released to UK cinema screens yesterday, Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World is looking to be a soaring success. Taken from the comic book adaptation, the film tells the story of one slacker’s quest to find true love, having to deal with an assortment of crazy characters: infamous skateboarders, vegan rock stars and fearsomely identical twins, before it really is game over. Deemed slick, smart and audacious, it is a film that anyone acquainted with a Nintendo will be queueing around the block to see. Considered the sharpest written and best directed film this summer, director Edgar Wright has much to smile about as we expect Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World to be joining the status of cop comedy sell-out success, Hot Fuzz, responsible for putting Wright on the US map.
