In 1986 Pete Tong, along with Nicky Holloway, Trevor Fung and 50 friends went to Ibiza to play and party in clubs such as Project Bar and Es Paradis, and this is when they discovered the importance of house music. Soon they had a huge following, and Tong became the renowned DJ on Radio One, and with little competition from other radio stations, he became the leading radio DJ of club/dance/electronic music of his time.
