Day seven of New York City Fashion Week and the mood was still as upbeat, colourful and fresh as day one. Michael Kors sent his models down the runway in deep turquoises, shimmering lilacs and a rainbow of pastel shades - with loose fitting chunky knits and casual shorts.

Nanette Lepore followed suit, with an Indian summer colour palette of rich teals and deep pinks, tempered with classic, sleeveless shirts and espadrille-esque shoes.

But it wasn’t all bohemian louche, 3.1 Phillip Lim injected some old school glamour into the day – with deep cream suits, purple ruffle traousers and black satin suits all accompanied with vertiginous heels, high maintenance hair and pristine makeup.

By far the stand - out show was Brazillian Alexandre Herchcovitch’s multi-coloured, voluminous and circus-like collection, which saw huge padded shoulders, high – waisted structured skirts and over sized zips in the brightest shades of lime green, sunshine yellow and pillar-box red.

What a brilliant way to end a brilliant New York City Fashion Week – we’re already looking forward to the next one!
