The new summer suit was the focus of Carolina Herrera’s designs as day 5 of New York Fashion Week unfolded. Working in a palette of pale colours, she focused more on the feel and texture of her designs.

Tracy Reese set the tone with big hair, bright colour and lots of layers. Her collection was awash with polka dot slips and periwinkle camisoles.

“The sensual sound of samba and soothing tones of Roberto Seminario set the scene for Brazilian designer, Carlos Miele’s Spring/Summer 2010 show,” reports the Telegraph.

“Carnival brights, floral appliquĂ©s, snake-patterns and photo prints of Rio’s famous beaches all echoed the mood of the sexy samba lifestyle.”

Showing a lot of shoulder is shaping up as a big trend as Tadashi Shoji shows us. Asymmetrical dresses and blouses dared to bare and leggings are sure to stick around for the upcoming season.

The collections featured mostly neutral colours and simple, fitted silhouettes and minidresses displayed  elegant accents like rolled collars and contrasting fabrics.

The luxe crinkled fabrics stood out, providing an aesthetically pleasing effect.

The all white wardrobe was the highlight from Tony Cohen who opted for daring cuts and off-beat designs.
