Yesterday at the first X Factor audition she brought competiton to fellow judge Cheryl Cole, wearing a very cute and fresh fuchsia dress along with a pair of black heels. X Factor stalwart Cheryl opted for a more casual look – skinny jeans, grey waistcoat and Louboutin shoes.

Both judges have more in common than we think. As well as being singers, in fact the only singers on the X Factor judging panel, they have also both modelled for L’Oreal.  ‘Because they’re worth it..’

Katy Perry, Pixie Lott and Geri Halliwell will also be filling in for Dannii Minogue.

Dressed in a stylish asymmetric black gown and heavy-set black shoes, Natalie’s audience included Mischa Barton and Avatar star Michelle Rodriguez.

The UK has been eagerly awaiting Natalie’s fourth studio album Come to Life, but instead Natalie has cleared her schedule to become the latest judge on Australian X Factor…!

After Natalie’s performance, Michelle took to the DJ decks for the rest of the evening – while we imagine Natalie took a well-earned break from her hectic Cannes schedule, which saw her spend the afternoon on a yacht with fellow Australian, the actress Naomi Watts.

Recently, Natalie confessed that while “I owe my singing career to the song Torn, but there are times when I never want to hear it or sing it ever again. There have been moments during the last couple of years when I’m in rehearsals and I think, ‘Not that bloody song again’. But I fight against that feeling. I remind myself that it’s not a song that I should ever take for granted, because it’s been so good for me in so many ways. I would never consider disowning.”

The former Neighbours star, and the woman who bought the world Torn just over 12 years ago is back, and has been performing a string of intimate gigs across the capital before she performs at this summer’s hottest festival – V.

Three songs off the album are co-written with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin – two ballads Lukas and Fun as well as a more upbeat and disco sounding Want.

Later this month Natalie’s new film, Australian drama Elise, will hit UK cinemas, with the one time Neighbours actress taking the title role. Directed by James Bogle and based on the book Closed For Winter by Georgia Blain, it tells the story of how Elise comes to terms with her sister’s disappearance, two decades on.

It will be Natalie’s first starring role in a movie and as one of our patrons, t5m will be supporting her all the way!

She discusses her biggest hit, ‘Torn,’ and the success that it gained.

She describes to t5m how she dealt with rising fame and the importance of keeping a level head and your feet firmly planted in reality in the entertainment business.

The money received from the record deal went straight towards a flight home to Australia, the very week that she’d be kicked out England for lack of visa.

Though the timing was perfect, she was left in Australia and in a state of panic about actually recording her first album. A year after signing, she began cutting tracks for ‘Left of the Middle.’

She had to grow up quickly and on her own, learning everything from how to shop for groceries, pay bills, and sign in and out of work, but she explains to t5m how she’s better off for it.

On deciding to stay here, she was left without a work permit, without a job, and scared of what to do next. Living on rice and beans, she began songwriting for something to do.

Natalie considers this term a very humbling time in her life. She reminds herself that the mighty can fall, and that it helps to appreciate what you have when you have it.
