I am a freelance writer based in the UK. I am passionate about films and like to blog about releases, trends and reaction to movie news. I can easily watch The Godfather and Ferris Bueller's Day Off in the same sitting. There may be some righteous indignation about some of Hollywood's releases but you may discover some rare gems!

The acting nods are definitely deserved. Freemand and Damon are both excellent.

It does simplify a lot of teh racial and class tensions, although I would argue with some of the criticism about how the World Cup Final brought everyone together. The point wasn't that everything would sudednly be better if SA won, but that what united the nation could be more than what divided them

Worth seeing but you would not lose anything by waiting until comes out on DVD.

Nelson Mandela REALLY wanted Morgan Freeman to play him? Incredible!

Like you say, quite the recommendation!

I dont know if these concerns are totally OFF POINT, but it sounds like quite a glossy, whistlestop tour of the history of elitism and racism in South Africa?

Like you say, it sounds like Eastwood's heart really isnt in it, how i felt with another of his directoral forays, The Changeling, which is a such a shame - as he often has great stories to tell...

Great review... not sure that i'll be bothered seeing them...

Does it deserve any Oscar nods?
