With their history making catwalk show consisting of all black models, t5m went backstage at PPQ to get an insider’s look at the hair and makeup – which was as eye catching and memorable as the clothes!
The models were given sixties inspired make up – which meant outrageous eyelashes with white details, heavy kohl eyeliner and flawless skin – courtesy of luxury make up brand, Shu Uemura. While the intricate hair styles were inspired by Egyptian queen Nefertiti, with sky hair buns wrapped in rope-like braids.
The make up and hair were designed to make the models feel empowered and strong – and t5m even find out the secrets behind the look (lots of milliners mesh wire, and a very late night!) so we can even recreate it ourselves.
The retrospective ‘time warp’ of the PPQ show continued with the designs themselves – with the garish bright colours and prints heavily referencing the eighties.
